Section 1
In this first section, we look at the six important points to keep in mind before you attempt CPR. Although these may sound like a lot to do, but in reality they’ll take you a matter of seconds.
Section 2
In the second section of this course, we look at how to perform CPR.
Section 3
In the final section of this course, we look at what an automated external defibrillator (AED) is and how to use it.
About this course
A person in cardiac arrest means that their heart has stopped – they’ll be unconscious, and they’ll either be breathing abnormally or not breathing at all.
In this CPR and AED refresher training course, we explain what cardiopulmonary resuscitation (or CPR) is and we’ll offer step-by-step demonstrations on how to perform CPR and how to use an an automated external defibrillator (or AED) – as these are two essential and potentially life-saving skills.
By the end of this course, the user should know what to do to help someone who has stopped breathing. And although we hope no user will ever need to put this into practice, the knowledge learned from this course could be critical in saving a life.
