Continuous sensitizations and enlightenment programmes to communities practising FGM, will go a long in eradicating or reducing the practice to the rarest minimum.
I think Ignorance is the major tool that has sustained the pratice of FGM. I believe no parent who genuinely realises the dangers and risks associated with the practice, would willingly subject their loved female daughters to go through the dangers of the practice. Sustained awareness campaigns will ultimately bring the practice to an end.
