This was a good, clear course, very informative, and full transcripts, making the videos non-compulsory. Nicely broken down into good-sized sections.

As a volunteer I do not comprehend why we have to complete this. My role is to meet and greet people. make them a cuppa, give them a piece of cake. This was extremely taxing for me. Yes this would have been relevant if I was working in a large organisation such as the NHS. Indeed I was a very senior nurse till I retired 2 years ago and I have a Masters in Cancer Care. As a volunteer my role is to meet and greet people and make them feel welcome. I would listen as to why they were visiting Maggies and signpost them to the relevant person for advice and guidance. I might show them round and tell them about Maggies or chat to them around the kitchen table. I also make cups of tea, clean and wash dishes and tidy up. I understand the relevance regarding data protection however this is far too much detail. I am 67 yrs old one of the younger volunteers. I know some of our volunteers will struggle and will find it very hard. Our oldest volunteer is 75 years! Could you explain to me why this is mandatory for volunteers. however this is far too much information for volunteers
