About this course

Conflict is part of our daily lives and it can have a very negative impact on our relationships. However, well-managed conflict can bring about positive change. It has been found that 85% of employees deal with conflict at work at some point, and 29% of employees deal with it almost constantly.

The ability to communicate successfully is among the most sought-after soft skills in the workplace, whether you’re dealing with the differences or demands of your employees, colleagues, managers, suppliers or clients.

Conflict can arise in any organisation and in any industry – anywhere where people who have different beliefs, opinions and ways of working are sharing the same space! Whether it’s just two individuals or a group of people.

A conflict that is handled poorly, or not handled at all, can cause irreparable damage to your organisation’s productivity and reputation. Hence why Conflict Resolution Training is essential for giving you the best strategy for dealing with conflict.

Really enjoyed doing the course

feel more comfortable now searching and applying for jobs

I feel as if i got a lot more knowledge about civil service and what different roles intake

Please see bellow

With no disrespect, I do not feel that I have gained a significant level of new knowledge., compared to my current communication skills, and building effective relationships in school, with teaching staff, and pupils. This included starting teacher training, and previous experience in primary and secondary schools, as a cover teaching assistant and cover supervisor roles. In addition, this included a Masters Level Assignment demonstrating my understanding of the Reflection Process, as part of becoming a reflective practitioner. However, due to the impact of a previous false safeguarding allegation made against me, I found this experience very stressful, which I think affected my level of resilience and ultimately meant that I was unable to qualify as a teacher. Between September and December of 2024, I applied for 17 Executive Officer Posts in The DWP and roles in other departments. From this I got through to two interviews for the DWP but failed at this stage. Along with my previous setback, this has felt quite demoralising, because I will never get this time back. It doesn't feel very nice being in receipt of Job Seekers Allowance, then having to trot along to Job Centre Pluss every two weeks, and hear the same questions, and regurgitate the same answer. Or waking up each day and thinking, how long do I have to live like this for? Or how much money I have each month after my landlord's rent has been taken out of my bank account? I am extremely careful, I do not waste any money, I cook at home, and make sure that I have fresh food and a balanced diet. I do not drink or smoke, and I walk everywhere within three miles, as I refuse to pay £2. 80 on a bus to go a few stops. With the limited amount of money I have, it is very monotenouse, and mentally draining having to eke out every single penny going round Liddle or Aldi. A decent pair of new leather shoes would be at least more than my weekly shopping bill unless I saw them in a sale. I simply do not have the financial resources to replace things like this if they wear out. I would also feel guilty if I was using public money to have a social life. But I am acutely aware that I need to gain more face-to-face contact with real people to have a conversation, rather than on a screen in a Zoom Meeting. It can feel very isolating having to live like this at present, and I honestly wonder how much longer I can put up with this. I often find myself not being able to go to sleep at night, or waking up thinking about my present situation. It makes me feel very impatient sometimes. Although I go for walks, it is very difficult not to think about my current situation, and not being able to qualify as a teacher. I would dearly love to be in a decent job, with a reasonable income, and look forward to the weekends,. I would be able to afford to run a car again and drive out to the countryside to go for a walk/ visit a National Trust Sight. Or put my tent and camping equipment in my car, and go to a nice Caravan And Camping Club Site. Feel that I could re-establish a pleasant relationship with my sister, and drive down to West Sussex to see my sister and my brother-in-law/ take them out for a meal/ go for nice walks over the Sussex Downs/ or along the beach with their golden retriever. Or move out of my present accommodation, and afford to find somewhere to live on my own, and basically do normal things again, and feel like a normal human being. I am volunteering with a local voluntary organisation and learning about research skills and evaluation, and getting involved with project work. But this is only One Half Day Per Week. If a result of completing The Civil Service Counselling and Mentoring Diploma, I have managed to secure a position in The Civil Service, (and if I do not have to contend with people using public services being referred to as customers), I may be able to give you an answer based on my experience. Because quite honestly, at the moment, excuse my language, but quite frankly it feels like fucking shit! Why is this training important?

Business benefits

It’s estimated that 85% of employees deal with conflict at work at some point, and around 29% deal with it on a regular basis.

Conflict can be incredibly negative, having drastic consequences on both individuals and the wider organisation. However, with the right tools, conflict can be managed effectively, saving you money and increasing productivity; helping empower your staff, improving their work experience, and reducing your staff turnover; and helping you manage risks by preventing potential aggression or violence by disgruntled staff, mitigating the legal risks which might result from such actions while fostering a better public perception of your organisation. Our Conflict Resolution Training provides you with the tools you and your staff need to properly manage conflict, turning what could so easily be a negative into a benefit for you and your organisation.
