Interesting facts

There was a lot in this course I already knew but it was good as a refresher. Made me question throwing things away.

As a general course it's alright, but confusion on "Butterfly Theory".

The 'Butterfly Theory" is featured several times in the course, but the meaning differs from the generally recognised idea. Google: "The butterfly effect, rooted in chaos theory, posits that tiny, initial changes in a complex system can lead to massive, unpredictable consequences over time. Coined by meteorologist Edward Lorenz, the concept suggests a butterfly flapping its wings in Brazil could—in theory—cause a tornado in Texas. It illustrates the extreme sensitivity of systems, like weather, to minor perturbations." The course seems to think it means a small action by lots of people can add up to something big happening. If we all emit CO2 the planet warms proportionally. If we all throw some rubbish there's a big mess. There's no chaos or unpredictablity involved. Richard.

Useful and a good reminder for everyone what they can do to help the planet

A great overview in simple terms of how people can think more about their impact on the environment and how this can help at home and in the workplace too.

The training was helpful. It relates to the work.
