Good start to keeping children safe in..
The information was very good but I felt the following areas should have been discussed more 1- Confidentiality, it touched on that you can't make promises to young people that you won't tell anyone else (eg professional bodies), which I totally agree with but I don't think it sufficiently covered how adults share information with other colleagues in confidence. 2- Appropriate behaviour, working with young people in youth groups we are constantly thinking how our behaviour can be interpreted by others.
A great course

VERY DETAILED AND COMPREHENSIVE
Detailed coverage of subject matter and beyond for practice and further education. The references are very valuable for further studies.
not learner friendly
As an educator, we are very aware of the fact that every child/every person learns differently; some people are auditory learners, some are visual learners some are kinesthetic learners. It would have been nice if this course was NOT just a powerpoint presentation that one must read through. It is an important but heavy topic and yet I found my attention wandering. There is another company that has a course on the same exact topic that I took last year but it is much better as the presentation addressed all different types of learners, which made the material much easier to learn and remember. There were videos to watch, things to read, as well as information presented verbally.
Just a written summary of the law
No effort in presentation. Just a précis of the law that wasn’t very engaging at all. I skim read it. Nothing new or enlightening since the last safeguarding session. The last safguarding session run by LCC in March 22 in the Newman Hall was the polar opposite… very engaging and well presented & run by someone who has taught these sessions for many years
