About this course
Eye injuries are probably more common than you think. In fact, over 2,000 people per day sustain injuries to their eyes! Whether that’s through strain or from working without the correct PPE, it can always be prevented.
As your eyes are so delicate and cannot be easily fixed, it is essential that you know how to treat them in the healthiest way possible. This Eye Protection Training course was designed to tackle the risks of damage to the eyes, and reduce the chances of any vision-altering accidents.
Eye injuries are one of the most common non-fatal injuries in the workplace and as many as 90% of them could have been prevented by wearing the right eye protection. Learn how to keep your eyesight safe with our online Eye Protection Training course.
This course can be used in conjunction with a number of our construction and manufacturing courses, such as PPE Training, Abrasive Wheel Safety Training and many others.

Why is this training important?
Compliance
It’s important that you comply with the law and know the ways in which it affects you and the way you work.
Personal Protective Equipment at Work Regulations 1992
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required for a lot of jobs. It is to reduce the chance of any accidents or incidents that occur to either you or somebody else. It is the employer’s responsibility to provide the PPE, free of charge. However, it is down to the employee to know when they have to use it, and how they can use it.
Employers have duties concerning the provision and use of personal protective equipment (PPE) at work. PPE is equipment that will protect the user against health or safety risks at work.
The Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974 (HASAWA) is the legislation that covers how safe a workplace is and sets the standards of what safety precautions a workplace should put in place. This is to ensure minimal risk and to make sure there are as little accidents happening as possible.
