Section 1

This section introduces mental health and raises awareness about removing stigma, the importance of Mental Health and Wellbeing training, as well as the common triggers of poor mental health, and it provides insight into the influence of negative thought patterns.

Section 2

Section two talks about poor mental health and how to manage it – particularly loneliness, stress, anxiety and depression. It looks at changes in behaviour and what to keep an eye on, with additional resources that provide an overview of other mental illnesses, such as phobias, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, eating disorders and panic attacks – to name a few.

Section 3

Section three of our Mental Health Awareness course is a wellbeing toolkit that can be used to manage day-to-day mental health. It offers a variety of insights, mini-exercises, practical strategies, recommendations and some food for thought so you can use what suits you. It also explains the importance of creating a Wellbeing Action Plan at work.

Section 4

This short final section is a hub for external mental health management. It offers you many starting points for improving mental health, or simply to maintain good mental health. It provides information on books, magazines, websites, apps, helplines and the different types of counselling and therapy that are out there – and how you can get started.

More of a miss than a hit…

As someone who has struggled with mental health I found this training to be misleading. Perhaps a good overview for someone who is not aware at all, but for me I almost found it triggering. The training said that people with depression are sad and often tearful – however for me, this is far from the case. Externally I am bubbly and cheerful, and most people would be shocked to hear of my battle with depression. The Wellness Action Plan perhaps should be reviewed as well… might be worth having a quick google of pop culture references to WAP. Other mental health issues were touched on to, but perhaps this could be more of a focus too – depression and anxiety are well known across millennial workers.
