What are my Legal Workshop Safety Responsibilities?
Below are the various different pieces of legislation that apply to employers to ensure you meet compliance requirements. The workshop environment of your business will determine which legislation is applicable to your organisation.
The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999
Introduced to reinforce the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, this act places health and safety duties on both employers and employees.
The Electricity at Work Regulations 1989
Requires precautions to be taken against the risk of death or injury from electrical accidents in work activities.
The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998
PUWER places health and safety duties on workers and companies who own or operate equipment.
Personal Protective Equipment at Work Regulations 1992
Employers have a duty to provide PPE and make sure it is being used.
The Control of Vibration at Work Regulations 2005
These regulations introduced limit values for hand arm and whole-body vibration exposure.
