Your responsibilities with young employees

When employing a young person under the age of 18, whether for work, work experience, or as an apprentice, employers have the same responsibilities for their health, safety, and welfare as they do for other employees.

The Health & Safety at Work Act 1974

The Kickstart Scheme

If you have used the Kickstart Scheme to employ a young person, you need to support them and give them the tools/skills they need to be more employable. You must also provide them with 25 hours per week for a total of 6 months.
